Dolly Foster, Horticulture Program Assistant at the Purdue Lake County Extension, has been a Horticulturist for 25 years. She holds a master’s in agriculture from U of I. For the past 25 years, Dolly has been presenting lectures on many gardening topics. She spent two years as adjunct faculty at Joliet Junior College Agriculture/ Horticulture Department and 18 years in the Parks and Recreation industry. She has been butterfly gardening from the very beginning of her gardening career. Her passion has led her to growing a native garden and raising monarch and swallowtail butterflies for many years. Her garden at home has been a Monarch Waystation since 2011. Dolly also runs a micro plant nursery at her home selling plants exclusively for pollinators June-October. She sells from her home by appointment.
Dolly will be bringing some examples of seed heads and discuss how to recognize when seeds are ready to collect- just in time for the late season collecting!
